Service Description

Your tour departs from the I Site taking you along The Esplanade lined with magnificent Norfolk Pines and native Pohutukawa trees winding around the foreshore towards the Pier Hotel well known for its Crayfish and seafood meals. Next we come to the New Wharf. This is where the "Rahui"(marine reserve area) begins. Your guide will show and explain the Rahui to you. Continuing on we pass the historic Fyffe House which has whalebone foundations, the old wharf and stop at Armers Beach, we then arrive at the Seal Colony. You can explore and view the New Zealand Fur Seals in the wild taking in the stunning views of the Seaward Kaikoura Mountains and the Pacific Ocean. From the Seal Colony we make our way to the Lookout Point on top of the Peninsula. Here you will get magnificent 360 degree views of the Kaikoura mountains, the Southern Alps, the total Kaikoura coastline and the Pacific Ocean. We then proceed to the South Bay Reserve where you can watch Native birds and see historical pictures and stories of Kaikouras rich and diverse history. ALL TOURS: Fully Guided
